“Aggregate did a fantastic job with both screening for highly qualified lawyers, and with pairing me with the right lawyer for the job.”
“I have worked with two great firms on interesting, short-term projects. It was easy to sign up and the people at Aggregate have been helpful and informative throughout.”
“Aggregate Law has been an invaluable resource for connecting with new clients and interesting projects. It is also a superb referral for those times when I cannot take on new projects.”
Of course we have one! In order to use this website, you must first read and accept this agreement. You accept this agreement by checking the designated box to complete your Aggregate Law account.
First and foremost, Aggregate Law is not a law firm or lawyer referral service. We were founded (in part) by a lawyer, but our business is our web application connecting project attorneys with legal work. We cannot and do not offer legal advice.
Now, about you - the user. To use this site, you must be either (1) a project attorney seeking work, or (2) an employer looking to hire a project attorney.
If you are a project attorney, you must be an attorney admitted to practice in good standing with your respective state bar association with at least three (3) years of professional experience. You must provide your full legal name, a valid email address and telephone number, and a valid state bar number. You also agree to accurately and proactively report any previous, current or pending disciplinary action, as well as disciplinary action that may arise after acceptance to the site. A current CV and legal writing sample authored predominately by you must also be submitted. We also ask whether you have professional liability insurance, but such coverage is not required for approval to our database.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee you will be accepted into Aggregate Law's project attorney database. Either way, you will be notified about the status of your application.
If you are an employer looking to hire a project attorney, you must be a lawyer, law firm, legal department, or other business entity interested in retaining an attorney on a consulting, 1099 independent contractor basis. You must provide your full legal name and a valid email address and telephone number. You must have a valid credit or debit card to facilitate payment of the job posting fee. Legal recruiters or anyone seeking to recruit attorneys for other staffing positions may not post jobs.
Each person using Aggregate Law shall create a separate account and password. This account information shall not be transferred or assigned to any other person.
No Aggregate Law user may (1) take any action that imposes an unreasonable load on the site's infrastructure, (2) use any device, software or routine to interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of the site or any activity being conducted on the site, (3) attempt to decipher, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer any of the software comprising or making up the site, (4) delete or alter any material posted by any other person or entity, or (5) frame or link to any of the materials or information available from the site.
Aggregate Law reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate service to anyone, with or without cause, in its sole discretion.
The project rates are set by the hiring firm and are posted with each job. The method and manner of paying for the project, however, are negotiable between the parties. That is, the project attorney and hiring firm should discuss and agree on a compensation structure (e.g., whether a project retainer is required). Aggregate Law does not participate in the setting of rates nor does it facilitate payment for work performed. We are not liable for any non-payment, but would certainly like to be informed about this if it does occur.
It is the sole responsibility of the of the project attorney and hiring firm to ensure there are no client conflict issues. Aggregate Law bears no responsibility for the failure of either the project attorney or hiring firm to disclose any conflicts or for the failure to comply with local ethics rules. Attorneys do not pay or share any fees to use Aggregate Law.
Aggregate Law is a software as a service that connects attorneys and firms with legal work. Although we are selective in accepting project attorneys to participate, Aggregate Law does not endorse any particular attorney accepted to its site. Nor can Aggregate Law guarantee that a project will be completed satisfactorily. You should make your own assessments of the persons you decide to interact with, engage or provide services to. We do not assume responsibility for the conduct of, or quality of the services provided by, anyone using Aggregate Law.
The above notwithstanding, Aggregate Law desires to promote trust in its service. Therefore, if an employer is dissatisfied with a project attorney's work product, Aggregate Law will, at the employer's option, either (1) refund the employer's job posting fee or (2) credit employer with a free job posting. Refund or credit requests should be sent to support@aggregatelaw.com.
